Maggie, Chris, & Farley: A Fall Day at Marymoor Park

Posted in Family, Pet

A few weeks ago I had a fun fall session with Maggie, her husband, Chris, and their big old basset hound, Farley, at Marymoor Park in Redmond. Fall was a little late this year and even though we didn’t have colorful piles of leaves to play in, we pretty much had the run of the dog park… and that was just fine by Farley who enjoyed running and sniffing e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g in sight.  With a bit of luck, and a few dog treats, we even got Farley to pose a bit.  Special thanks to Maggie’s friend, Rebecca, who wrangled Farley so I could get a few shots of Maggie and Chris alone!

Grant Loves Trains! {Chehalis Washington Family Photographer}

Posted in Children

Since Grant loves trains so much, we decided to theme his latest session around his obsession. We explored some dead tracks in Chehalis, and even jumped on an old yellow caboose nearby that was just picture perfect!  Right up the street was a picturesque bridge, which Grant informed me used to be a railway many years ago, before it was a walking trail. (This kid sure knows his stuff.)  As always, Grant had me cracking up with his quirky personality and interesting factoids. I tell you, he is 6 going on 60! Here are some images from our weekend shoot.  How adorable is he?

A Nature Walk in Juanita Bay Park

Posted in Nature

I’ve been spending some time exploring parks around the Redmond/Kirkland area this summer and I am so thrilled to have stumbled upon Juanita Bay Park in Kirkland. This place is incredible: gorgeous willow trees, picnic areas, and sprawling boardwalks with views of Lake Washington. I was only there for an hour and saw turtles, swans, a great blue heron, ducks and little tiny baby ducks!  If you’re looking to connect with nature in the city, Juanita Bay Park is the place to go. This park is a gem!

Hats, Hairclips, and Headbands from Ollilou!

Posted in Uncategorized

I just love finding new local craft vendors! Check out the lovely wares of Nicole from Ollilou. She makes the most darling handcrafted hats, headbands, hair clips, and more. I photographed some of her goodies at her booth last weekend at the Redmond Town Center Arts Festival… and of course I had to purchase a few things for myself.
